COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course will help you complete your understanding of the skeleton as we evaluate and balance the delicate bones of the cranium.
Developed by Judith Sullivan and taught by ZB Expanded faculty members, Zero Balancing Expanded: Addressing the Skull was created to help ZB practitioners use ZB principles when working with the skull and structures of the anterior and posterior neck. We will look at skull anatomy through the lens of ZB, and explore skull bones, foundation joints and membranes. In addition, this class introduces detailed anatomy of the face, mouth, throat, and skull, and methods for evaluation and balancing these areas. Presentations demonstrate the power of this work through case studies and clinical experiences. Please bring your copy of
Zero Balancing Expanded: The Attitude of Awaiting a Fish by Judith Sullivan. This is the textbook for this class.
You will learn:
• Applying and refining ZB touch principles to working with the skull
• A thorough overview of skull anatomy: bones, membranes and their relationships
• To locate and evaluate sutures - foundation joints of the skull
• The value and experience of sliding fulcrums
• How to engage "neighbor" bones to help those in trouble
• Ways to nestle with the skull and brain
• Fulcrums and holds to release held tension in the mouth, teeth, and jaw
• Fulcrums for the external and inner ear
• How the sacrum and coccyx relate to skull and brain
• How facial trauma affects the whole cranium
• Fulcrums that address key structures of the brain including the corpus callosum, motor cortex and sensory cortex
• How to weave skull fulcrums into your ZB sessions
