Ethical Community
Welcome to the Zero Balancing Health Association Community
A hallmark of Zero Balancing is holding each other and ourselves in the highest personal regard. We acknowledge that we have not always had a clear and safe channel for people to report concerns, and get support, when this did not happen. Our aim is to promote organizational principles, policies and practices to support and enhance respect, integrity, safety and accountability throughout the ZB community, as well as in our interactions with the wider world.
To this end the ZBHA is in the process of revising our Code of Ethics and has created Community Agreements. These documents outline the agreements and boundaries of the safe community we hope to co-create.
To assist with feedback and resolution with interactions that do not meet these goals, questions and concerns can be brought to
- our office at zbha@zerobalancing.com or 410-381-8956;
- our Ombuds (see below);
- by formal complaint.
Ombuds
According to The International Ombuds Association, “organizational ombuds work with individuals and groups in an organization to:- Provide a safe space to talk about an issue or concern.
- Explore options to help resolve conflicts.
- Bring systemic concerns to the attention of the organization for resolution.”
An Organizational Ombuds engages in the following activities:
- Listens and understands issues while remaining neutral with respect to the facts.
- Guides or coaches individuals to deal directly with other parties, including helping individuals improve their skill and their confidence in giving voice to their concerns directly.
- Reviews and clarifies appropriate resolution resources.
- When an individual is unable or unwilling to raise a concern directly, the ombuds can assist by helping give voice to the concern and /or creating an awareness of the issue among appropriate decision-makers in the organization.
