Licensed Massage TherapistDavid Lauterstein is the Co-Director of The Lauterstein-Conway Massage School in Austin, Texas, one of the premier massage schools in the U.S. He began practicing bodywork in 1977 and has been, since 1982, a teacher specializing in Deep Massage: The Lauterstein Method and Zero Balancing (since 1996). He is author of the books, The Deep Massage Book: How to Combine Structure and Energy in Bodywork (Redwing Book, 2012), Putting the Soul Back in the Body and Life in the Bones: A Biography of Dr. Fritz Smith and Zero Balancing (Upledger Productions, 2017)
With a background in social action, philosophy and music composition (B.A., University of Illinois, 1972), David is an outspoken international teacher and advocate for the art, as well as the science, of healing through touch. He is the 2012 recipient of the AMTA Jerome Perlinski Teacher of the Year award and in 2013 recognized by the Alliance for Massage Therapy Education as Educator of the Year.
David is certified to teach ZB I, ZB II, Alchemy of Touch, Geometry of Healing, Freely Moveable Joints, Deep Massage: The Lauterstein Method (soft tissue fulcrums), Introduction to ZB and Advancing Skills Days.
