COURSE DESCRIPTION
Developed by Judith Sullivan and taught by ZBX faculty members, Zero Balancing Expanded: Addressing the Skull was created to help ZB practitioners use ZB principles when working with the skull and structures of the anterior and posterior neck. In this course we will look at skull anatomy and its relevance to ZB, and explore different qualities we feel in the skull and their significance. In addition, this class introduces detailed anatomy of the face, mouth, throat, and skull, and methods for evaluation and balancing these areas. Presentations demonstrate the power of this work through case studies and clinical experiences. Please bring your copy of Zero Balancing Expanded: The Attitude of Awaiting a Fish. This is the text book for this class.
You will learn:
• Applying and refining ZB touch principles to working with the skull
• A thorough overview of skull anatomy: bones and membranes and their relationships
• To find and evaluate sutures - foundation joints of the skull
• The value and experience of sliding fulcrums• How to engage "neighbor" bones to help those in trouble
• Ways to nestle with the skull and brain• Fulcrums and holds to release held tension in the mouth, teeth, and jaw
• Fulcrums for the ears
• How the sacrum and coccyx relate to head and brain
• How facial trauma affects the whole cranium
• Fulcrums that address key structures of the brain including the corpus callosum, motor cortex and sensory cortex
• How to weave skull fulcrums into your ZB sessions
What Participants Say about ZBX: Addressing the Skull
“This is a practice-changing class! Thank you for sharing this wealth of information.” Kelly Kaeding Davidson
“I loved the way we talked through the fulcrums together. This will allow me to practice all of them.” Polly Menendez
“It doesn’t take much to be at the Blue Line with the skull, and working so lightly allows me to feel so much more of what is going on in structures of bones and membranes.” Debra Murphy
“Having two instructors – one to demonstrate the fulcrums and another to show hand placement/movement on the skull is super helpful.” Deb Pickett
“Touching and being touched by experienced teachers inspires confidence.” Larry Sellers
