COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Zero Balancing I is the first half of the 50-hour Core Zero Balancing program and the first course of the Zero Balancing curriculum. ZB I introduces you to the technique, theory, touch skills and history of the art and science of Zero Balancing. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to perform a full-body Zero Balancing session and experience what it feels like to receive Zero Balancing fulcrums and sessions. Class size is small to provide plenty of hands-on attention. The instructor will deliver clear presentations and demonstrations of Zero Balancing evaluations and techniques, along with a detailed study guide to inform your ongoing practice.
You will learn:
- Theory and principles of Zero Balancing bodymind therapy
- To palpate and feel body energy within body structure
- A touch method of using clear boundaries so you won't feel drained working with clients
- The skill of using energy as a working tool so you can do more with less effort
- The structural and energetic anatomy of the skeleton and special joints of focus in ZB
- The theory and application of Zero Balancing touch techniques called fulcrums
- How to give a 30-minute ZB session that addresses the whole body
- How to use ZB to integrate other types of structural or energetic bodywork
About Amanda
Since my first ZB session in 2002, I wanted to learn and teach this amazing work. Its power is profound and it seems to help so many different issues by working with the whole person, both structure (bone) and energy (tension/vibration). It relaxes the body deeply, quiets the mind and brings new insights and awareness. People say they feel re-set, calmer, and like they've awakened energized from a long sleep. Since 2004, I've trained with ZB developer Fritz Smith, MD. In 2012, I joined the ZB faculty and also now teach Zero Balancing Expanded classes for the Skull and Organs. It's been my privilege to help train other Zero Balancing teachers and mentors. Since 2020 I've served on the Board of the Zero Balancing Touch Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to education and research into the power of touch. My private practice is in Salem, MA where I offer sessions for pain management, trauma work and personal growth.
A recent pilot study showed ZB to improve physical comfort, mental clarity, emotional stability and spiritual connection. Read more details here!
What Participants say about ZB I with Amanda King:
“ZB is an immediate addition to my practice. I noticed on day 4 of ZB I how good my body was feeling in that moment. Help to myself and my practice has arrived.” Catherine Perman-Andrade, LMBT, CMLDT
*
"Thank you for four amazing days of learning—as unfolding awareness, discovery of subtle and meaningful truths that lay waiting to be known and engaged consciously." Christine G. LAc
*
“Zero Balancing I was enlightening. Having worked with soft tissue for 13 years, ZB offers a new perspective. Bone, which we regard as hard and unable to work with, but it’s so important…and plays such a vital role in the balance of the body.” Jean M., LMT
*
“I loved the benefit of the pause. Rest and non-action are often not viewed as treatment. This really highlighted the importance of a client’s processing and work that occurs during that time.” Kristin Keenan, PT
*
“Zero Balancing requires less energy to do. It’s exciting to watch my clients and see what’s unfolding for them.” Sarah-Elizabeth Anderson, LMT, CST
