Class 3 of the COLLECTIVE HEALING PRACTICES FOR TRAUMA, ACTIVISM AND INCLUSION Series

The Touch of Inclusion: Expanding the Circle of Connection in Healing Work
This workshop is the third course in a three-part workshop series focusing on collective healing designed for the entire community of ZB students, practitioners, mentors, and faculty members for professional practitioner development and personal growth. This course focuses on creating a communal culture that fosters inclusivity and honors diversity.

This three-hour interactive workshop invites Zero Balancing practitioners to come together in a warm, supportive space to reflect on how to deepen the connection and foster inclusivity and healing in ourselves, our clients, and our communities. Together, we will explore how our conditioning shapes our perspectives and discover new ways to create a greater sense of belonging in our work.

A panel of individuals representing marginalized groups will share their personal experiences and viewpoints, opening the door to meaningful conversations about what our community truly needs to support collective healing. Through guided activities and open dialogue, participants can listen, learn, and reflect on how Zero Balancing can play a vital role in creating spaces of safety, respect, and transformation.

In this class, we will:

  • Reflect on personal and cultural conditioning, increasing self-awareness and understanding of how these influences shape their interactions and healing practices;
  • Listen to and engage with the lived experiences and viewpoints of individuals from marginalized groups, cultivating empathy and expanding their perspectives;
  • Explore how fostering inclusion and connection within our practice can contribute to personal growth and a more profound sense of community;
  • Identify what is needed within our communities to support collective healing and reflect on their role in promoting well-being for all;
  • Engage in open dialogue about the importance of fostering respectful and supportive spaces in our personal lives and professional practices;
  • Develop a deeper connection to our own healing journey and understand how it can positively impact the collective transformation of our community.
Mary Murphy and Misty Rhoads highly recommend attending this class live to get the most out of the group experience. What we can learn, and experience is greatly amplified by doing this together in our collective container of care for each other and ourselves. However, except for the breakout sessions, it will be available as a recording only for those who register in advance of the class or for the full series. In the breakout sessions, we will ask participants to share only their personal experiences rather than discuss others' experiences to maintain and respect the privacy of all involved.

Workshop Series Details:
These are experiential workshops rather than technique-oriented, and they are an opportunity to increase our connection with one another and our interconnection with all we work and serve in the wider world. These workshops build on one another and will be most useful if all three workshops are taken for the best experience.
