COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Zero Balancing I is the first half of the 50-hour foundational Core Zero Balancing program and the first course of the Zero Balancing curriculum. ZB I provides you with a detailed overview of the technique, theory, touch skills and history of the art and science of Zero Balancing bodymind therapy that combines Western views of anatomy and health with Eastern views of wellness, balance, harmony and flow. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to perform a full-body Zero Balancing session and receive Zero Balancing fulcrums and sessions from the instructor and classmates. Class size is small to provide plenty of hands-on attention. The instructor will deliver clear presentations and demonstrations of Zero Balancing evaluations and techniques, along with a detailed study guide to inform your ongoing practice.
Read recent evidence-based research into Zero Balancing.
You will learn:
- Theory, development and principles of Zero Balancing bodymind therapy
- To palpate and feel for tension and imbalances within skeletal structure
- A mindful touch method using clear boundaries
- The skill of using energy as a working tool so you can do more with less effort
- The structural and energetic anatomy of the skeleton and special joints of focus in ZB
- The theory and application of Zero Balancing touch techniques called fulcrums
- How to give a ZB session that addresses the whole body
- How to use ZB to integrate other types of structural or energetic bodywork, such as massage or acupuncture
About Amanda
Since my first ZB session in 2002, I wanted to teach this transformative work. In my 20 years of practice I've seen ZB support people to feel embodied and alive to their inner resilience. ZB also supports those recovering from injuries, trauma, anxiety, headaches and other issues. By working with the whole person, both structure (bone) and energy (tension/vibration), we can relax the body deeply, calm the nervous system, improve alignment, quiet the mind and offer a vehicle for inner work and growth. I've trained with Dr. Fritz Smith, ZB founder from 2004 until his passing in 2024. I've been teaching ZB since 2012, and also now teach Zero Balancing Expanded classes for the Skull and Organs and the ZB Mentor Advancement Program with Lisa Berger and Michele Doucette. Since 2020 I've served on the Board of the Zero Balancing Touch Foundation. I see clients in Salem, MA.
What Participants say about ZB I with Amanda King:
"This course is both practical and magical. The energy of the bones is powerful and doesn’t always get talked about. Here we talk about it and feel it!” Kimberly Bacon
“This class was personally transformative! Experiencing ZB not only will enhance my practice, in addition it has added depth to my being in my body.” Isabelle Lovell
