Class 1 of the COLLECTIVE HEALING PRACTICES FOR TRAUMA, ACTIVISM AND INCLUSION Series
Saturday | March 8, 2025 | 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Eastern
From Individual to Collective: Pathways for Healing Together
This online workshop is the first of a three-part workshop series focusing on collective healing, designed for the entire community of ZB students, practitioners, mentors, and faculty members for professional practitioner development and personal growth.
In this class, we will:
- Attune our nervous system to foster a deep, grounded connection with self and others;
- Explore personal and intergenerational conditioning that influences perspectives and interactions, gaining awareness of how these patterns impact our relationship with ourselves and others;
- Introduce skills in nonjudgemental self-awareness to recognize and work with personal patterns in a way that promotes compassion and empathy towards self and others;
- Integrate course experiences through embodied witnessing and shared insights in a safe, and anchored space.
Mary Murphy and Misty Rhoads recommend attending this class live to get the most out of the group experience. What we can learn, and experience is greatly amplified by doing this together in our collective container of care for each other and ourselves. However, except for the breakout sessions, it will be available as a recording only to those who register in advance of the class or register for the full series. In the breakout sessions, we will ask participants to share only their personal experiences rather than discuss others' experiences to maintain and respect the privacy of all involved.
Workshop Series Details:
The second two courses will focus on trauma-sensitive activism and creating a communal culture that fosters inclusivity and honors diversity. These are experiential workshops rather than technique-oriented, and they are an opportunity to increase our connection with one another and our interconnection with all we work and serve in the wider world. These workshops build on one another and will be most useful if all three workshops are taken for the best experience.
Bonus Sessions:
Mary Murphy and Misty Rhoads will host monthly practice sessions between the first and second courses to refine skills, ground the material, and have the much-needed space in our busy lives to practice together. Registration for the practice sessions are done through Mary Murphy, zbmary55@gmail.com.
